Sydney Festival of Death and Dying
The 2026 Sydney edition of the Festival of Death and Dying will take place 21-22 November at 1c New Beach Road, Rushcutters Bay. It is a unique event which features over 20 participatory workshops, performances, talks and ceremonies on different aspects of death and dying over two days. In addition to talks and discussions, you will have experiences, which do justice to the spectrum of what is at stake in mortality.

Berlin Festival of Death and Dying
In unserer heutigen westlichen Kultur wird Tod und Sterben im Allgemeinen immer noch als etwas betrachtet, das man bekämpfen, verleugnen und vor allem fürchten muss. Aber was wäre, wenn wir den Blickwinkel ändern? Es gibt gute Gründe sich mehr mit Tod und Sterben zu befassen. Wenn wir über die Sterblichkeit - unsere eigene und die der anderen - nachdenken und uns mit ihr auseinandersetzen, kann unser Leben reicher, tiefer und wertvoller werden. Sterblichkeit ist in Wahrheit die Intensivierung des Lebens.
Die zweite Ausgabe unseres Festivals zu Tod und Sterben findet vom 16. bis 18. Januar 2026 im Säälchen, Holzmarkt 25 statt. An drei Tagen werden über 40 partizipative Workshops, Performances, Gespräche und Zeremonien zu verschiedenen Aspekten von Tod und Sterben angeboten - auf Deutsch und Englisch. Neben Vorträgen und Diskussionen, gibt es erfahrungsbasierte Workshops und künstlerische Auseinandersetzungen mit dem Thema. Und nicht zuletzt die Möglichkeit mit anderen Menschen in Kontakt zu kommen über ein Thema, mit dem wir uns sonst oft alleine auseinandersetzen.

Christmas is an extremely stressful time of year. It often doesn’t feel fun at all.
Come join us for a journey of play and permission where we’ll reconnect with our sensuality, our aliveness and the pleasures of our bodies!
We’ll dress up, do fun and exploratory things together, eat chocolate and cherries, and reconnect with our beloved community of brave and curious ones.
Bring a costume, if you like, and maybe something to eat for a shared meal after.
